Cosmetically tattooed eyeliner allows us to define the lash line, dramatize the eyes, and lift the lid.

We work together to choose the style and color you are aiming to achieve with your cosmetically tattooed eyeliner.

How do we decide shape for cosmetically tattooed eyeliner?

Shape is determined based on the look you are trying to achieve, while taking into account your facial features and the golden ratio of beauty. It’s always helpful to have reference photos to act as a visual guide as we discuss the design that we are trying to achieve with your eyeliner. This is a very individualized process so each client will be different!

How do we choose the color for cosmetically tattooed eyeliner?

Traditionally, all eyeliner is tattooed in black, grey, or a brown hue. This will all be based on your personal preference. Tattooed ink also has a tendency to oxidize during the healing process, often turning blue or orange. If this happens, we are able to balance the color through a process of color correction. Lux does not take ALL corrective cases; this is done on an individual basis. Please keep in mind that ink changing color is not always the fault of the artist, but a combination of artists, how you take care of your ink, and how the body reacts to the ink.

How long do cosmetically tattooed eyeliner last?

This tattoo process is permanent, so your cosmetically tattooed eyeliner will last forever. However, various factors can fade the ink such as sun exposure, exfoliating, excessively dry skin, etc.

Will I ever need a touchup?

Tattooed eyeliner is a two-step process; your initial and a touchup 4 weeks post. You may require a touchup after that, as everybody heals differently. Things such as sun exposure and excessively oily skin can lighten the ink at an expedited rate so in that case, you may touchup the ink years down the road. Healing is very crucial to the results of your cosmetically tattooed lip blushing as well; following after care is important to ensure you won’t need consecutive touchups! The eyes are one of the most sensitive areas of the body to tattoo. It is common to need 2+ treatments. Pricing with Lux includes your initial and first touchup; all touchups after that will have a fee.

What is the healing process like for cosmetically tattooed eyeliner?

I’ll send you home with an ointment for after treatment. It’s important to keep your cosmetically tattooed eyeliner CLEAN, COOL, CALM, and DRY post-treatment to ensure we don’t bother the ink. We’ll go into aftercare instructions in depth the day of your treatment, but generally, it just entails being very gentle with your freshly tattooed skin. You’ll experience a bit of swelling and scabbing, but other than that it’s a fairly simple healing process!

Does it hurt to get cosmetically tattooed eyeliner?

I use a medical-grade numbing cream to make the process as pain-free as possible. I have had clients who do not even feel the tattooing process, while others are a bit more sensitive; this depends on your body’s pain tolerance and every person varies. If you do experience discomfort, we will apply more numbing cream, focus on your favorite music, and get through it together!

How long does it take to get cosmetically tattooed eyeliner?

On average, the process takes anywhere from one to two hours, so it’s a pretty quick process! This depends on how well you sit (pain tolerance) and how in-depth we are getting with the design. In addition, eyes have a tendency to swell with tattooing, so this also plays into how quickly the process of tattooing eyeliner goes.
