Last summer I started my aesthetics journey with microblading by Kait, who is the owner of LuxIndianapolis and I’m very happy and pleased with every experience. I discovered Kait via social media, I liked her style and the information she shared about beauty and skincare had me curious. I’ve been interested in cosmetic procedures for a while, but I was nervous about the investment, scarring, and the treatments not working on my skin. She answered all my questions, assured me that it would be safe, and tailored everything to my needs. LuxIndianapolis’s studio is very stylish, Kait is very personable, and I feel like a princess every time I am there. So naturally, I came back for more!
If you ask my friends “What can Terrian talk about with no prompt?” they would tell you it’s skincare and makeup products. It has been my obsession for a while as means of self-care and creativity. I’ve been curious about microneedling for years with celebrities making the “vampire facial” more popular. My skin priority is to enhance my natural beauty, maintain a youthful glow, and reduce breakouts. Which can all be addressed with microneedling. Since I turned 30, I’ve been worried about wrinkles but not sold on the idea of botox and fillers. Microneedling was appealing to me because it’s a minimally invasive treatment with little downtime and relies on taking advantage of the body’s natural rejuvenation process.
How it works…
Microneedling is a type of facial that uses tiny needles to create micro-injuries in your skin that will stimulate the skin’s natural healing process. The healing process will increase the production of collagen and elastin which makes the skin more radiant, youthful, and tight. First, Kait will cleanse your skin with a very relaxing facial and then apply numbing cream to give you more comfort. LuxIndianapolis uses the BellusMedical SkinPen, the only FDA-approved microneedling device, so you know you’re in good hands. She will control the depth of the needles and she made sure to check in periodically on my comfort level. As far as pain goes, it felt like I was getting poked repeatedly (I was haha) but I found the vibration from the SkinPen to be relaxing. The numbing cream certainly did its job, because I was aware of the needles but I didn’t feel like I was in pain. The microneedling itself takes about 30 minutes and ends with a steaming facial that is honestly so amazing.
